P.S You're Already Beautiful!
(You Just Don't Know It!)

Are you obsessed with the way you look but you're still not happy?
Are we allowing society to control what we think about ourselves?

Excellent! Terrific Article! Came at a good time for me too. I really want to get Botox. I just had a huge fight about money with my husband again. You speak the truth, stop wasting your money and chasing a stupid dream that is a figment of my imagination and a mirror of my own insecurity based upon feeling "useless" in society's eyes. Let's face it, no one is perfect. Not even the people whose pictures are airbrushed into fantasyland that we all aspire to become. Crud, I'm older and should be over this. The young girls are going to need a lot of help. Glad you're writing about this devastating problem. Thank you, Angie Vanucci, Denver, Colorado

This small, easy-to-read booklet is about a society out of control as Americans, young women in particular, search to attain their perfect physical self, without considering what the ramifications of their choices might be. It's about learning self-acceptance and regaining control over your life. Topics include information about "the most popular" plastic surgery procedures, their repercussions and risks; bogus claims promulgated by the cosmetic industry; the negative impact on consumers who are bombarded with advertisements every day; and other societal ills that pervade the thoughts of our vulnerable young people who, in an effort to "fit in" make reckless choices that endanger their health and sometimes their lives.

Zoe Roxanne brings her 25 years experience as a personal fitness trainer and group exercise instructor and her trademarked MINDMUSCLE technique to this discussion about exercise addiction, yo-yo dieting, binge/purge/starvation dieting, as well as her own addictive quest to find the "fountain of youth" through the use of plastic surgery, hair extensions, fillers, and Botox. Her own experiences, along with YWCA's info-article, "The Beauty Report," provide invaluable information and action steps to get you off the "road to nowhere" and help you achieve self-acceptance, wellness, and peace in your life.

In "Mindmuscle: A Simple Realist Guide To Physical, Mental & Spiritual Fitness", author Zoe Roxanne Ztar draws upon her more than twenty-five years of experience and expertise as a fitness instructor of learning and teaching group exercise and personal training courses to aid the reader in identifying personal problems and barriers to living an optimal life of personal satisfaction, emotional development, and spiritual accomplishment. "Mindmuscle" provides practical, realistic, and thoroughly 'user friendly' techniques for a journey of self-examination and the setting of personal goals. "Mindmuscle" covers a comprehensive diversity of thematically relevant issues including positive thinking, prayer, goal setting, the value of gratitude, eating disorders, dieting, keeping a food inventory, and more. The general principles laid out in "Mindmuscle" are readily adaptable and can be integrated into whatever the reader's current exercise and/or fitness program. Informed and informative, "Mindmuscle" is highly recommended reading for anyone of any age seeking to emancipate themselves from the expectations of others and the tyranny of compulsive consumerism arising from culturally reinforced definitions of the 'perfect body'.

Like other American women, I’ve spent the last 40 years trying to lose the same 30 pounds by trying every diet plan/product that’s come down the pike. Not anymore! Want to know why? It’s because I’ve found MINDMUSCLE...or better said, I’ve had the good fortune to meet Zoe Roxanne who has helped me bring sanity back into my life. Whenever I started a new program, I always tried to do too much at once and when I couldn’t “do it all” I gave up. Zoe has taught me how to “pace myself,” how to set more realistic goals. Now I’m taking “baby steps” and it’s working! Zoe’s MINDMUSCLE “plan” is sensible, her support and encouragement is invaluable. I urge everyone who thinks they’ve “tried everything” to read MINDMUSCLE. Try what makes sense to you and in no time you’ll see a “new you”—on the “outside” and on the "inside." Zoe lives her motto: “Believe! Achieve!” So can you.

P.S. You’re Already Beautiful (You just don’t know it!) is like "The Secret" – everything you need to know to change your life is right there in one tiny book! What’s behind the “Negative Body Image” pandemic that pervades America today? The answer is simple: the unrelenting barrage of propaganda heaped on Americans by the media—TV, radio, print ads, the Internet that affects everyone—adults, teens, even grammar school kids. We are systematically being brainwashed—told that we must be “beautiful” and “slim” in order to be popular and happy. Just how are we supposed to do that? We’re told, “Buy this [cosmetic],” “Take this [diet] pill,” “Erase your wrinkles” [with collagen], “Have lips like your favorite movie star” [with botox], or surgically “eliminate” your fat, get a “nose job” or enhance your figure with breast implants...all quick, easy, painless “fixes” that will transform us from ugly ducklings into swans.

P.S. You’re Already Beautiful (You Just Don’t Know It!) will help you get to the heart of a BIG problem: It’s not what you look like, it’s what you think about yourself. It’s about regaining your self-esteem and seeing yourself in a different way. It provides information that will enable you to make informed decisions about what you should do (or not do) to your body. It provides action steps to help you learn how to become the person you want to be—healthy, fit, and happy. And parents, by dealing with your own compulsion for perfection, you can better guide our children in adopting a healthier lifestyle. You can become beautiful from the inside out! KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! P.S. You’re Already Beautiful and the YWCA’s info-article, “The Beauty Report” (referenced in it) provide invaluable information and action steps to get you off the “road to nowhere” and help you achieve self-acceptance, wellness, and peace in your life and in the lives of your children.

Excerpt from "Mindmuscle: A Simple Realistic Guide to Physical, Mental & Spiritual Fitness"

My first suggestion in your quest for change is self-awareness. Are your thoughts negative or positive? If they're positive, keep it up! If they're not, simply decide to think differently. Remember that these are only thoughts. They can be changed. You have the power to do it.

At first it may feel strange, but like any old habit, it can be changed in time. If the thoughts don't stop, change your attention to thoughts of gratitude, prayer, or affirmations. This process helps you change negative thinking. Pessimism only feeds into more negative thinking. Negative thoughts lead to depression and feelings of hopelessness. It's not worth it. Be more optimistic. You will see that the results help in all areas of your life.
